STX Engine’s CEO Park Gi Mun visited Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) for Agency for Defense Development on the last 7th for the first time since his inauguration  and had a meeting with the chairman Ryu Jong Ha and staff to discuss the underwater audio business that has been progressing.
Chairman Ryu said “We thank STX Engine employees who have been working hard for the last 30 years,” and asked them to focus the abilities of STX Engine on underwater audio R&D in terms of  mutual survival and steady development.
In addition, the KIOST and company researches were totally into the tests in the outdoor fields until it was hard to tell who is from where, and had discussions about success stories and so on.  
At present, STX Engine and KIOST have been participating in development and mass production of fixed type of sonar projects for each ship ranged from FFG to KDDX as private partners.
CEO Park said as KIOST motto is “We take care of our defense on our own,” we will do the best to develop reliable, high quality products in time to ensure our army can use it in the right place in the right time.
